Siboh Kitak Nangis

Zee Avi

Off her new album ghostbird, here’s Malaysian artist Zee Avi with Siboh Kitak Nangis. If there’s one thing I love, it’s gorgeous music and lyrics that I have no chance of understanding. All the same, something about her voice really gets me - this is music to bury yourself in the pillows to, music to drink coffee in bed. This is music that makes me glad I have orange curtains. LISTEN. Find the album. Listen more.

More music here. Check it.

7 Heures du Matin

Jacqueline Taieb

I don’t have my car. Some lady reversed into me. All good, no worries, everything’s fine and dandy - but I’ve been listening to someone else’s radio presets in a rental car - some ghost who seemed to really like KCRW and oldies. This song was on it this morning and I was driving just a little too fast and I was just the right amount of slightly hungover and I’m wearing a skinny tie and the windows were down and there was just so much good about the moment.

Come on. Give it a spin. You’ll feel cool, I promise.

Not Fade Away (Buddy Holly Cover)

Florence + The Machine

Let’s all talk about how amazing this cover is. It sounds like something that fell off of the Treme soundtrack and took a left turn at True Blood blvd. Hip, dark, fresh, imminently danceable. Would love to hear some sick remix of this bumping in a club.

Florence and the Machine - Not Fade Away (Buddy Holly cover) off of the Rave On Buddy Holly tribute album.

Here’s the video - look how much fun she’s having!

Amor Fati - Washed Out

Amor Fati

Washed Out

Amor fati is a Latin phrase loosely translating to “love of fate” or “love of one’s fate”. It is used to describe an attitude in which one sees everything that happens in one’s life, including suffering and loss, as good. Moreover, it is characterized by an acceptance of the events or situations that occur in one’s life.

I can live with that.
