In December, 2010, two friends and I took part in a Taglit Birthright trip through Israel originating from our native Los Angeles, CA. We were joined by 46 others - other Americans, Israeli soldiers and students, two group leaders and a tour guide. The eleven day experience would start with New Years Eve and conclude on January 10th, 2011 - the night of my twenty-fifth birthday.

Each morning of our trip, I woke early to reflect and do some writing. The ensuing nine-volume text, transcribed (mostly) uncensored from my notes and posted to Things That Happen via my iPhone as the events unfolded, tells a story of an eye-opening, mind-blowing and positively life-altering experience.

I am proud to share my journey with you.
